Every time we go back down to the beach Lorelei finds her pet beetle. She definitely loves a good bug. She found the first one when Miss Hannah started yelping that something was stuck to her finger. Lorelei came to the rescue and carried the little guy everywhere with her. She made him a little home and searched for him each time she came back down to the beach.

A Simple Macro on Friday
Lorelei's acorn is only one collected item hidden in a vase in her room. She still has quite a bit of things from summers and season past and we're both looking forward to nice weather to collect a few more items. (This shot, minus the watermark, is straight out of camera.)

A Sort of Creative Experiment
Quick snaps. I ran around the house just a bit ago and took a few quick snap shots of this and that. I have been experimenting with photography for the last few months with it being my new hobby and all, but I haven't really experimented all that much with different types of editing. I'm exploring my tastes and seeing what sort of creative photographer I am. I hope you like the works I have for you today.
My Sky watch:
Also linked up with Simplicity: Routine
This shot was actually taken through my girls dirty window and screen. I thought it was moody so I edited in sort of a moody way. It is a routine for myself and the girls to stare out the window in search of boats and birds.
Macro's:
This particular flower is still hanging strong in Lorelei's room from a few weeks back. This was a strong edit I think. The color was definitely distorted into this finished product.
Also linked up with LEM Easter, etc.
Honestly this is no doubt a stretch, but with my oldest getting sick we were stuck on the couch most of the day today. I believe the flowers and their color really says Easter or Spring for that matter.
This photo is more in its original.
The color of the walls are more of a lavender or light pink in the girls room so I lightened the capture and added a glow for a feminine touch. It's kind of gritty I think.

Information and a Macro
While the kiddos are working on some projects next to me with The Letter Factory DVD playing in the background I'm stealing a moment to share something quick with you. I took this shot about ten minutes ago. Xbox is not my favorite thing by any means, but using it to view netflix and search for old movies and great cartoons for the kids is one of my favorite things. Recently watched: Scooby Doo: Camp Scare.
I also have a little information for you today. I have a new idea called "You're Invited" because it's just that. It's a link up party for link up parties. The idea is having the linky open all week and letting hosts link up the day they post their party. Be sure to check out the bonuses and goals for linking up. Let me know if you're interested. I have yet to start it.
Also, Theme Thursday this week is Transportation. Theme Thursdays link up starts on Wednesday night at 10:00 and ends on Tuesday night at 11:59pm. Next weeks theme on 4/28 will be shadow. Jennifer and I have decided on themes all the way through June so be sure to check that out and prepare early.
Happy Friday!

Macro Berry
I have been working more often on using my manual setting on my Canon Rebel T1I. You may or may not already know that I've only had it for a couple of months so it's still fairly new to me. I'm enjoying really making the shot my own. One thing that I have learned is that using manual is not easy in a house with odd light while chasing children. I have to change my settings to often! Yikes. So I decided to try something new and capture a shot of a bowl of delicious berries. I have to say that I liked the idea (so did the girls who were sneaking in and trying to eat my prop.)

I'll be honest and tell you that my "macro" which was intended for this post of one single berry just didn't come out right. I liked the reflection in the bowl too much I suppose. It was a delightful addition. I hope you liked my captures today!
Please make sure to take a look at Theme Thursday's A Touch of Spring. Happy Friday!

The Wonderful Outdoors
Spring. Still a little wet. Still a little frozen on this fine Spring day we went out to play. The sun was even shining.
Our boots were getting muddy.
The ice mountains were worth climbing.
..and on our way back up we even stole a view of something beautiful.
Go out and play! The air was so nice and the kids came in for a warm bath, pajamas and a cartoon before bed. Within no time they were fast asleep. Happy Friday!

Icy, Cold Spring
Bird song and a cool breeze. Flowers blooming and kids jumping puddles. Spring is in the air...not in my neck of the woods. It's freezing, literally. The little bit of spring we did have was frozen over again by a blizzard. Now the closest hope seen for Spring is melting ice.

Please send Spring my way.
It would be much appreciated. Thank you.
If You haven't yet, please stop by Theme Thursday and take a look. See if it's your cup of tea.

Macro Friday: H2O
Water; a regular theme around here. I really love capturing water at the lake and while my kids are playing in the pool. I haven't really tried a macro of water and I wanted to take the chance to see what I could really do. I gave it a shot and I hope you like it! Please enjoy my attempts at catching water at it's finest. Well, as fine as rinsing the dishes can get I suppose. Please enjoy!
First Set:
Second Set:
Yep, I took shots while rinsing the dishes. I hope you enjoyed my collection for today!

Macro Friday: A Pine Cone
First I would like to share that I did certainly blank on a name. Pine Cone, eh. What a creative Title. Anyway here is my lazy shot of a pine cone. This pine cone is one (and two) of the pine cones brought into the house by Miss Lorelei and I set it in my potpourri. Too funny. I also have to share that I very rarely take my camera away from home and I am now realizing this fact. If I do take it I rarely take it out for pictures. Too busy I guess. I don't know how mommies with more kiddos do it! Well, to the point. Please enjoy my pine cone capture(s) I took about fifteen minutes ago!
MY FAVORITE:
This is the capture I am choosing (with the help of my three year old, she likes it too) for my Macro Friday entry. What do you think?

Macro Friday: I Spy...The Color Red
These shots were taken while wandering with Lorelei the other night and I kept finding the color red pop out at me. These random leaves in wonderfully natural spots. The first shot makes me think of Christmas on the beach. Then I wander into thoughts of Santa on vacation. The second shot looks so peaceful and reminds me of the country. Maybe a cabin in the woods. Then my brain wanders to cups of hot coffee in the morning or hot chocolate late at night. Lastly the third shot, well the third shot I see a phone receiver on the rock in the upper right corner. I hope you like these and I hope they make you think of your own special places. Enjoy!
My Pick:
Why? Mostly because of the wood grain as well as the natural placement of the leaf.

Macro Friday: Water Droplets
This shot is actually from last week when I went out in the rain with my umbrella to see what I could capture. I showed you one shot full of water droplets and I also showed this flower dry the day before. This particular photograph is of the flower, but also covered in the rain. Take a look at more Macro shots linked up at Blogging From Bolivia.
Just for fun I added in Elmo. Mostly because I'm a mom and I see this on a daily basis, but also because it's fun. Have a good weekend everyone and enjoy beauty wherever you may find it!
