There is a secret here. Can you tell what it is? I will give you hint. I have Monet to partly thank for this capture. Have you guessed it? Is it plain to see?
This is my transportation entry.
(Check out more shots at todays Theme Thursday and link up if you like.)
I'm Also linking up my shot for Simplicities Pastel challenge.
Here is a closer look.
Okay, next shot I'll back it up a bit.
The Secret
Did you guess it?
Okay, so I'm not a genius or anything. I have to credit this idea to page 17 of Canon's "Do More with Macro" guide. I was perusing the pages and came upon this creative idea. They used a tiny car and a day planner. Their picture is a bit more believable, but I thought this was a great idea for todays theme transportation!
So what do you think? I have to share that the kids started putting in their books and dolls to get pictures just the same. So cute!
I love it! I thought maybe it was a book or something! :0) Question... that may be a dumb question... do you have to have a 'macro' lens to take macro shots?
ReplyDeleteGenius - I've never thought of that before. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteBecky, it seemed like you knew already. Good eye. As for the question, I'm not an expert by any means, but what I have found with the macro lens (55-250mm) the benefit is to get a crisp shot of something tiny like my button capture for Theme Thursday. The negative is that you need to have a good deal of distance from your shot and zooming in that far you need a tripod to really steady your shot. You may even need to the timer to lessen camera shake. It's definitely beneficial, but I have gotten some great macro's with my stock lens from my Nikon D40. I've gotten right up on my belly and zoomed right in. You can get a lot closer to your subject with a basic lens. The key to a macro is a steady hand or a good bass to put your camera on. I hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteAshley, I'm glad you liked it. I saw it in the canons "tip" book and thought it was genius. How come I hadn't thought of it? I hope you can use it!
ReplyDeletewow, I love the idea - so cool!

ReplyDeleteVery cool! Love how the tones in the background and car seem to compliment each other.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone! I'm glad you like it! It was fun, plus I started thinking about artwork for the girls room. They picked out favorite books and stood them up with their favorite trinkets and dolls and I zoomed in and got a shot of those. They might work for art in their room. Maybe I'll share those later. I'd love to see everyones captures! Definitely link me to it or drop me a comment.
